NEW MODULE FOR CARBON CAPTURE AND STORAGE SIMULATIONS (CCS)

NEW EOS MODELS

• In addition to Cubic EoS models and GERG-2008, the CCS module also features the Span-Wagner model for pure CO₂ and the Leachman model for pure H₂.

NEW VISCOSITY AND THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY MODELS

• In addition to the traditional CSP and LBC models, the CCS module has the Laesecke/Huber model for pure CO₂, the Muzny/Assael model for pure H₂, and the CSP model with CO₂ as reference component for CO₂ rich systems.

BRINE SOLUBILITY SIMULATIONS

• New parameters have been estimated for accurate simulations of CO₂ solubility in Brine.
• Saturate Brine with CO₂
• Generate Brine solubility tables for CO₂

T-XY AND P-XY DIAGRAMS FOR CO₂ IMPURITY SIMULATIONS

• For common impurity components, simulate the impact on saturation pressures as a function of the impurity concentration.

PH PHASE ENVELOPE

• Pressure – Enthalpy (PH) phase envelopes can be simulated with isothermal lines.

HYDRATES

• New parameters have been estimated for improved simulations of hydrate formation in CO₂ rich fluids with low amounts of water.
• Hydrate PH and PT phase mapping options.

CO₂ DENSITY TUNING

• Optimize Peneloux volume shift parameters (constant or temperature dependent) to match densities in a pressure-temperature grid. Reference densities simulated with Span-Wagner.

CCS VERIFICATION REPORT

• The CCS verification report shows a comprehensive comparison of simulation results vs. experimental data for CO₂ with impurities, CO₂ with water, CO₂ with brine and solid CO₂ freezing.

• The CCS module has a number of standard PVT simulation options: Fluid database, Fluid mixing, Flash (2, 3, multi-phase PT, PH, UV, HS, VT, P-beta, T-beta), Phase envelope, Saturate with water, Critical Point, Property Generator, Hydrates and Unit Operations.
